This seasonal business in a cyclical industry was successfully reorganized, streamlined, and repositioned in the market while diversifying for long term success. A management team was identified, trained and developed to shift decision making closer to the client and to drive the passion for a “zero tolerance” mentality for quality control while positioning the company for self funded growth while carefully preserving the organizational value throughout the process. Key and critical fundamental core competencies were identified and promoted in repositioning the company. Then, "tangential market opportunities" were researched, reviewed, tested and pursued vigorously.
The result: improved organizational value with streamlined processes, improved decision-making thus driving higher EBITDA, creating a diversified customer base with industry leading clients and establishing and documenting a track record of successful client outcomes. The company was not only completely self funded from consistently improving cash flow during this repositioning, it also repurchased its own stock while preparing itself for sale when the market conditions were appropriate. The company was ultimately sold at a valuation that was not possible prior to the repositioning of the company.
